It took more than 2-years… but… the current City Council has finally reversed a bone-head, arrogant decision by their predecessors.

THIS Council, under Mayor Naheed Nenshi, has decided building a $1.7 million gym for city employees is not a good use of taxpayer dollars.

THIS Council is also saying city employees will have to buy their own gym memberships and will have to workout at the many, many fitness facilities already available downtown.

Wow… where did I hear that before?

Oh yeah… in my blog from November 2008.

In that blog… I said I was so upset I want my share of city taxes back that was being used to pay to build the personal gym in City Hall.

Kudos to THIS Council for correcting a big mistake.
