Now what am I going to do?

Kudos to The Sun newspaper for debunking one of the most prevalent myths in Calgary. But… the paper has taken away a GREAT excuse for going home loopy from Flames games.

For decades… people have said they get more drunk off draught beer from the Saddledome… so-called heroin beer… compared to similar quantities served in regular bars.

A reporter from The Sun snuck a draught beer out of The Dome and had it tested in a local lab.

The result: it contained 4.9% alcohol… well within the normal level. One myth busted.

What about the theory of “dirty lines” contributing to the alcoholic effects of beer?

Nope. A spokesperson for The Saddledome says the lines used for the draught are cleaned regularly. Two myths down.

How about the rumour that Dome beer contains a different concentration of gas. No way. It’s the exact same as your local pub.

So… why is it you feel so loopy after a Flames game?

Who knows… maybe the salty peanuts and popcorn make you drink faster than normal.

What’s your theory? Weigh-in below…
