Thousands of families young and old, flocked to Stampede Park early Sunday morning to take advantage of Family Day.

There was a free pancake breakfast for the first 20,000 guests through the gates, and an added bonus, free admission from 6 to 9 a.m.

The line-ups are long as a result of the bonuses, but Stampede-goers are happy none-the-less, including Brian.

“It was a savings of $32 for my wife and I,” he says, “it’s just one way to get families into the park and for everyone to get to enjoy it.”

Doreen, a native Calgarian tells 660News she loves the atmosphere and the number of people on the grounds.

Most of the venues have family-friendly entertainment all day, and kids are expected to flock to the midway in droves.
