Four people rushed out of a Riverdale home Saturday morning after flames burst out in the basement.

Battalion Chief Larry Fisher tells 660News fire crews responded to the 800 block of Crescent Boulevard southwest at around 9:30 a.m.

Fisher says, “Four occupants of the house, two adults, two children as well as their two dogs managed to get out in time. Crews went in and and found a fire in the basement, extinguished that quickly and ventilated for re-occupation.”

Nobody was hurt and the cause of the blaze is under investigation.

Fisher says the basement was extensively damaged.
