Two Tory politicians seeking re-election have brought the Airport Tunnel into the campaign.

Devinder Shory, the incumbent for the riding of Calgary Northeast, says he supports it.

Deepak Obhrai, the incumbent for the riding of Calgary East, says he doesn’t like the project because of cost concerns.

Any regular reader of this blog knows I agree with Shory.

Why?

Down the road… the northeast C-Train line will use the tunnel to connect the airport to the downtown core.

That direct LRT link into the heart of the city… will be a key piece of infrastructure Calgary is currently missing.

I don’t think the Airport Tunnel will be a huge issue in this campaign… but it may sway people in the ridings Shory and Obhrai are running in.
