The city is thinking about stopping people from leaving their cars idling as they run into the bank or store.
Count me in.
Yes… when it’s -25 Celsius I’ll miss getting into a cozy car after quickly running inside to grab a snack.
But… clean air is more important than a warm vehicle.
An orange blanket of smog can be seen on a regular basis as you drive into Calgary.
That orange blanket would be considerably thinner if we all stopped idling our cars or letting them warm-up for 10-minutes.
Alderman shot down a bylaw banning idling 5-years ago.
I hope they don’t do the same this time around.
