Police believe arson responsible for fire in NW Calgary

Investigators say a fire that caused about $500,000 in damage is a case of arson.

On May 6th, the Calgary Fire Department was called to a blaze at the 2600 block of 12th Avenue Northwest, in the community of St. Andrews Heights.

Two people inside escaped without getting hurt and crews extinguished the flames.

But the fire investigator determined someone lit the house on fire from the outside.

Calgary police obtained surveillance footage, available below, from a nearby home and officers want Calgarians’ help identifying the suspect.
