City of Calgary encouraging summer fitness

The City of Calgary is encouraging everyone to get active.

The message comes on the heels of the 2018 ParticipACTION report card which gave Canadian kids a ‘D +’ for overall fitness.

Heather Cowie with the city’s recreation department said they offer more than 10,000 programs.

“From registered opportunities to learn to swim, to learn to skate, to our tiny toes ballet, to creative classes such as painting and dance and movement, and then we also have drop-in opportunities and then we’ve just got our facilities that are there for families to take advantage of when it’s convenient,” she said.
