A traditional ground-breaking and land blessing ceremony will be held Thursday morning to mark the start of construction for the new Spyhill Services Centre.
The facility will eventually replace the arrest processing section which is currently in downtown Calgary.
Police Chief Roger Chaffin, Calgary Police Commission Chair Brian Thiessen, and Infrastructure Minister Sandra Jansen will attend the ceremony.
It starts at 11 a.m. on 85 Street NW.
