Murder charge laid in weekend death

Calgary police have laid a second-degree murder charge after a 46-year-old man died over the weekend.
According to authorities, a disturbance occurred at a home in the northeast community of Marlborough, which escalated to a violent encounter, resulting in Jason Dirks’ death.
Forty-one-year-old Shane Robin has been charged with second-degree murder and will appear in court next week. Police believe the suspect and the victim knew each other.
