Airdrie RCMP have charged a 37-year member of the Calgary Police Service.

On Tuesday, shortly after 9 p.m., the RCMP charged Staff Sergeant Rod Harbidge with impaired driving.

He was off-duty at the time of the incident.

The member will be relieved of duty. CPS will review the decision in 30 days.

In a release, CPS says they are unable to comment on the incident since the matter is now before the courts.
