Stampede’s approaching fast and preparations are underway

We’re less than a month away from the Calgary Stampede, and that means the Stampede Caravan is busy preparing as well.

The Caravan is the group that hosts most of the major free Stampede breakfasts in and around Calgary.

Caravan spokesperson Ruth Ann Rayner says things are ticking along just fine.

“Excited would be the best word, we love what we do,” she said. “Our Caravan Committee has grown from being less than 30 people in 1980 to 150 people today.”

She adds the busiest breakfasts are usually at Sunridge and CrossIron Mills malls, while Deer Valley Shopping Centre and North Hill Centre tend to be a touch slower.
