Calgarians encouraged to attend re-naming of bridge

A downtown bridge was officially renamed on Saturday.
Calgarians were invited to take part in the renaming ceremony of the Reconciliation Bridge in the city’s downtown.
Treaty 7 First Nations, the Metis and the Inuit community attended the event, alongside Mayor Naheed Nenshi, representatives from the Calgary Police Service and others.
The event started at 1 p.m. with a prayer circle followed by drumming and a traditional round dance.
The bridge will also bit lit up in traditional colours Saturday night and Sunday.
