Olympic oversight committee to meet Tuesday

Calgary council’s oversight committee into a possible Olympic bid meets again Tuesday.

It’s the second official gathering for the group, chaired by Councillor Evan Woolley.

He tells CityNews, the meeting will set the agenda for the group going forward.

“We have the multi-party agreement that we need to work towards, we have to run an engagement process with Calgarians. We need to be as open and transparent as possible. We need to make a decision around the plebiscite question and when we’re going to hold that. There is a lot of just grinding hard work that we need to pound through over the next number of months,” Woolley said.

He said the group was formed to filter through all the information coming in about a possible 2026 bid, and then share it with the public.
