Man wanted in connection to violent armed robbery

A Canada-wide warrant is issued for a man wanted in connection to violent armed robbery involving guns and a machete.

Security footage from the Hempisphere Store at 5315 17 Ave S.E. shows three masked men enter the business before one of the suspects points a gun at the store manager. Calgary Police Service released the footage from the Jan. 20, 2018 incident last month and asked the public for help identifying the suspects.

The video shows a suspect holding a gun to the store manager’s head. Investigators say the two other men went into a back room, grabbed a clerk and forced him to hand over keys to a safe. Police say the men fled with cash and other items from the store and they ripped the phone cords out of the wall before fleeing the scene.

Jahlal Pottinger, 23, and Devan Wright, also 23, are charged with several counts in relation to the incident.

Majwang Magak, 22, is wanted on charges of robbery with a firearm, unlawful confinement and other counts. He is described as black, 6’5″ tall, 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
