Four arrested in alleged Didsbury murder conspiracy

Four people are facing dozens of charges, including conspiracy to commit murder, after an investigation in Didsbury.

RCMP say the investigation began March 14, 2018, when a man, who was walking, was repeatedly hit in the head with an object. Police say the assault was likely a case of mistaken identity.

Two days later, police report the intended victim was knocked unconscious.

As of Tuesday, both victims were recovering from injuries.

Police say evidence shows the attacks were carried out by the same people, and it began with a plot to kill the intended victim, over a child custody dispute.

Joseph Jerry Aubut, 31, is facing 14 criminal charges including conspiracy to commit murder, aggravated assault and various weapons offences.

Donna Maria Faulkner and Jesse James Hoffman are each facing 11 criminal charges including conspiracy to commit murder, assault and various weapons offences.

Austin Cody Jay Graham, 22, is facing one count of conspiracy to commit murder.

Each of the accused were remanded in custody and will appear in Didsbury Provincial Court on April 9, 2018.
