Mounties in Cochrane are on scene at a property in Morley where they’ve found several stolen vehicles and stolen car parts.
The investigation started Thursday night when police were patrolling the area and found a suspect sitting in a vehicle with a stolen license plate with a firearm.
As they were arresting him, another stolen car pulled on to the property.
“Because of the arrests we’ve made in the last few months, the town of Cochrane itself has seen a drastic decrease in the amount of theft of vehicles and thefts from vehicles,” explained Corporal Troy Savinkoff.
Police say they also stopped a stolen vehicle on the Trans-Canada Highway near Morley Thursday night with the help of OnStar, which stopped the vehicle allowing police to arrest three people.
“It’s important that all agencies form close partnerships to ensure that we are sharing information and helping each other reducing crime in our communities,” said Savinkoff.
