Arrest made in double murder

Calgary police say they have arrested another suspect relating to a double murder in a Superstore parking lot in May 2017.

Investigators are currently in the process of interviewing the suspect and will not release their name, or say what role they played in the murders, until charges are formally laid.

They also want to identify the driver of an SUV who dropped off the accused at a gas station on Freeport Blvd. N.E. following the murders.

The vehicle is described as a red Dodge Durango SLT, likely a 2004 to 2006 model, with a sunroof.

Over the May long weekend last year, 23-year-old Colin Reitberger, and 26-year-old Anees Amr — who police believe was an unintended target — were found shot to death in the parking on 130th Avenue S.E.

Christian Ouellette was charged with two counts of first degree murder, and another man is accused of trafficking the gun used in the homicides.

Police allege the two were involved in a Calgary-based crime ring with links to cross border drug trading, and two murders.
