Bermuda Shorts Day at U of C now paid event

For the first time in its history, it’s going to cost students to attend Bermuda Shorts Day at the University of Calgary.

The students’ union has announced it will be charging $10 for wristbands to take part in the annual end of year party that includes a concert, food trucks, and a beer garden.

The union said since having to relocate in 2009 and with increased expenses including the university charging them rent for the parking lot venue, they lost $88,000 on the event last year.

Early bird tickets will be $5 for the festivities on Friday, April 13.
