Hitmen lose tight game to Rebels

Red Deer’s Reese Johnson found the back of the net in overtime to lift the Rebels over the Calgary Hitmen 3-2 Wednesday night at the ENMAX Centrium.
The Hitmen rallied to tie it after they fell behind 2-0, before eventually losing in the extra frame.
Mason McCarty and Chris Douglas had the Rebels’ other goals, while Riley Stotts and Conner Chaulk scored for the Hitmen.
Red Deer peppered Hitmen goaltender Nick Schneider with 38 shots during the contest.
Schneider would be the first star in a game where he would pass the 5,000 career save mark in the WHL.
The Hitmen continue their two game road-trip in Edmonton on Friday against the Oil Kings.
