Mountie injured in Airdrie arrest

An RCMP officer was injured while trying to arrest a man in Airdrie over the weekend.

Police were called to Meadowbrook Drive shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday, where a man was seen jumping up and down in the middle of the street.

Officers found him inside the bathroom of the Hi Ho Gas & Grocery, and said he appeared to be impaired and agitated.

One officer received minor injuries to his hand during an altercation.

A 21-year-old man is charged with resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, and causing a disturbance.
