In a dramatic comeback the Calgary Hitmen defeated the Prince Albert Raiders 4-3 in overtime on Sunday at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Trailing 3-1 with less then four minutes remaining in the third period, the Hitmen received a shorthanded goal from Luke Coleman and the equalizer from Jakob Stukel to force the extra session.
Conner Chaulk then netted the winner on a shorthanded breakaway 3:37 into sudden death.
Riley Stotts (1g, 1a) also scored for the Hitmen with Jake Kryski adding a pair of assists.
Nick Schneider made 23 saves for Calgary to pick up the win. He also recorded an assist on the game winner and surpassed 10,000 career minutes played in the Western Hockey League.
The Hitmen, seven points behind Kootenay for a playoff spot, now depart on a season-high seven-game road trip starting Saturday, Jan. 27, in Victoria for the first of two straight against the Royals.
