Man accused of bringing loaded gun to Calgary restaurant

The Calgary Police Service Gang Suppression Team has announced charges after finding a man with a loaded handgun in a southwest restaurant on the weekend.

The team made the arrest just after midnight on Sunday after asking to speak to a man inside the eatery at 24th Avenue and 4th street S.W.

When he stood up, officers saw a handgun on the seat where he’d been sitting.

The loaded weapon had also been reported stolen from Golden, B.C.

28-year-old Tommy Tran Nguyen faces several charges including carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a restricted and prohibited weapon with ammunition.
