Teen killed in crash south of Calgary

A deadly crash shut down Highway 2 south of Calgary on Tuesday and sent two others to hospital.

Paramedics were dispatched at about 10:45 a.m. just south of High River, near 594 Avenue East.

Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Adam Loria said he doesn’t know the details of the crash, but the first person crews came in contact with was a 19-year-old.

“He was determined to be deceased on scene,” he said. “Two subsequent adults were transported to the Foothills Medical Centre. Both are in stable, non-life threatening condition. However, they suffered serious injuries.”

STARS Air Ambulance was also dispatched to the scene to bring the woman to Foothills hospital.
