Brisk weather sticking around in Alberta

It’s still bitter out there and it sounds like it’s going to last longer than first predicted.

Stuart MacKay with Environment Canada said extreme cold warnings remain in place Thursday for a huge chunk of Alberta.

“Another arctic high sat in the Yukon and decided to drop south over top of us and bring another blast,” said MacKay.

While Calgary isn’t in the warning zone, high temperatures for the next few days will be still be around minus 20.

MacKay said we are due to see a warm up starting on New Year’s Day, but New Year’s Eve will be quite chilly.
