Calgary roads crews catching up

Road clearing crews in Calgary continued to plow priority one and two routes, Thursday, following Wednesday’s big dump of snow.

Most of the major thoroughfares were in decent shape for the Thursday morning commute, but side streets and residential roads were still hard to maneuver around.

City Roads spokesperson Tara Norton-Merrin told 660 NEWS, “Our crews are actually finishing their work on the major routes, the priority one routes.”

Her expectation was that full attention would be given to priority two routes, the bus routes, around noon on Thursday.

“We’re also going to be focusing on a lot of our hand-work–around sidewalks and steps and on Transit stations, as well today,” she added.

Environment Canada was calling for more snow Thursday.
