“Out of a showcase of about $100,000 worth of gear, they took one specific camera,” said Ferreira. “It’s [the Leica MP Safari Edition], it’s a green camera, normally Leica’s are black, or silver and this one was green with a silver lens, so very much a collectible piece.”
Along with the Leica, one Hasselblad camera body and three Hasselblad lens’ were also stolen.
“All these pieces will stand out insanely,” said Ferreria. “Even if you’re into photography and you know a lot about gear, or you don’t, the pieces are very striking and they are pretty unique.”
The store is offering the reward to anyone who has information that leads to a conviction.
Calgary Police are investigating.
