Toy Angels donations down; Calgarians encouraged to give

660 NEWS’ sister station 95.9 CHFM is calling on Calgarians to help with the Salvation Army’s Annual Toy Angels drive.

Mookie says they found out on Wednesday night they only have 6,000 toys. That’s down from last year when they collected 40,000 donations.

“Behind the scenes, things were moving swiftly. As it turns out, if we don’t step our game up there’s a lot of families that won’t have the merriest Christmas that we can give them”

Lori adds it’s so easy to give.

“Even if you don’t have time to get toy your can buy gift cards anywhere now, you can get them while you’re at the grocery store. Or, if you have a toy, bring the kids, bring the family make it a shared experience.”

Donations can be dropped off here at the station at 7th Ave S.W., any Calgary Police Service District Office or other designated donations spots in the city.
