Hitmen crush Edmonton Oil Kings

The Calgary Hitmen pulled themselves a little bit closer to the playoff picture with a 6-1 pounding of the Edmonton Oil Kings at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Wednesday night.

Riley Stotts had 2 goals and 1 assist, while Nick Schneider made 35 saves to pick up the win.

Vladislav Yeryomenko, Jakob Stukel, Andrei Grishakov and Cael Zimmerman also tallied for the Hitmen.

Davis Koch scored the lone goal for Edmonton.

The Hitmen are now only four points back of the final playoff spot, which is held by the Kootenay ICE.

Those two teams face-off in a home and home set this weekend.
