The Calgary Fire Department is investigating a house fire in the southwest early Monday morning.
Acting Battalion Chief Bruce Gelhorn said they arrived just around 1 a.m.
“One person was home at the time. They self-evacuated before the fire department arrived — There was fire in the basement and some involvement on the main floor when we arrived,” Gelhorn said.
A 28-year-old woman was taken to hospital in stable non-life threatening condition.
Two homes on either side of the fire were evacuated as a precaution, but residents were eventually allowed to go back into their homes.
The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
