A report going to a council committee Tuesday is calling on the city to fund roughly $8-million in repairs and improvements to the downtown’s Plus15 walkway.
Coleen Harcourt with Downtown Calgary said businesses have definitely noticed bridges needing repair, but she also believes it’s a good chance to make some safety upgrades.
“And I think it’s just looking at opportunities for things that might be improved, like some of the lighting that creates better light around the Plus15s,” she said.
Administration believes the bill can be covered through city reserves, meaning it won’t hit taxpayers.
The work is expected to be completed over the next couple years.
