Calgary shoppers head to the malls for Black Friday deals

Malls across Calgary will be full of Black Friday shoppers on the hunt for the best deals.
General Manager of Chinook Centre Paige O’Neil said this has become the second busiest shopping event next to Boxing Day.
“It’s become more and more popular every year and our retailers are definitely taking advantage of Black Friday.”
O’Neil adds this is the start of holiday sales that go through Christmas and into January.
Before shoppers head into the massive crowds, Leah Brownridge with the Better Business Bureau has some advice.
“If you are having your cellphone on you, as many of us do, use password protection,” she advised, “just in case that phone gets dropped or misplaced your information won’t be falling into stranger’s hands.”
Brownridge added keep all your valuables in a secure place because if it’s accessible to you that means it’s an easy target for thieves.
Chinook Centre, Southcentre Mall, CrossIron Mills, and Sunridge are all open until 9 p.m.
