AC/DC co-founder, guitarist Malcolm Young dies aged 64

SYDNEY, Australia (NEWS 1130) – Co-founder of AC/DC and guitarist Malcolm Young has died, aged 64.

A statement on the band’s Facebook page says Young passed away with his family by his bedside.

“Renowned for his musical prowess Malcolm was a songwriter, guitarist, performer, producer and visionary who inspired many. From the outset, he knew what he wanted to achieve and, along with his younger brother, took to the world stage giving their all at every show. Nothing less would do for their fans.”

“He leaves behind an enormous legacy that will live on forever.”

“Malcolm, job well done.”

Young started AC/DC in 1973 with his brother, fellow guitarist Angus.

He had been living with dementia for several years.

Malcolm Young is survived by his wife, two children, son-in-law, three grandchildren, sister and brother.
