Teen in custody over Marlborough Park homicide released

A 15-year-old, who was taken into custody after the stabbing death of Leslie Sunwalk, has been released without charges.

Calgary Police confirming Thursday evening that no charges have been laid in the case.

Investigators have yet to disclose if there are any other suspects or persons of interest.

Sunwalk was discovered early Wednesday morning at 5 a.m. with a stab wound in the 5500 block of Maddock Drive N.E.

He was taken to hospital but later died as a result of his injury.

According to police, the two teens knew each other and they are still trying to determine the motive.

It’s the same address as to where Tyler Sanderson was killed in May 2016 but investigators couldn’t confirm as to whether or not there was a “familial connection”.
