The latest show at Vertigo Theatre is based on an old Alfred Hitchcock movie.
The film The 39 Steps, from 1935, is widely viewed as the first real spy thriller.
The play hit the stage this past weekend.
Director Ron Jenkins said it’s a four-actor show with each playing numerous characters.
“Well this story is about this guy named Richard Hannay, who goes to see a show at the theatre one night, and all of a sudden there are some shenanigans, and he ends up getting entwined in this spy story. He meets this mysterious woman at the theatre,” Jenkins said.
He added the show isn’t just a thriller, there’s also comedy and romance mixed in with the mystery.
The 39 Steps is on now through mid-December.
