Calgary Hitmen fall 6-5 in OT in Brandon

Ty Lewis scored on a breakaway 27 seconds into overtime to lead the Wheat Kings to a 6-5 win over the Calgary Hitmen on Tuesday night in Brandon.
Stelio Mattheos with 2 goals on the night for the Wheat Kings with Baron Thompson, Connor Gutenberg and Linden McCorrister also scoring.
It was McCorrister’s power play marker with 1:29 remaining in the 3rd that forced the extra session.
Kale Clague led Brandon with four assists.
Calgary, which saw leads of 2-0, 4-2 and 5-3 erased, got a pair of goals from both Jakob Stukel and Tristen Nielsen.
Jake Bean rounded out the scoring with Vladislav Yeryomenko chipping in a pair of helpers.
It was the second straight OT loss for the Hitmen, (6-11-3) just two games into their five-game road trip which continues Wednesday night in Regina.
