A 35-year-old Alberta man is charged with second degree murder in the death of his estranged wife.
RCMP discovered the body of 31-year-old Nichole Clifford in her Wainwright home earlier this year after she failed to show up at work on a February morning.
Autopsy results determined that her cause of death was a homicide and members of the Major Crimes Unit examined the scene for evidence.
Mounties immediately took to the public asking if anyone saw anything suspicious or saw any kind of activity in the area.
Robert Clifford was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree murder in relation to the incident Thursday.
He’ll be in Vegreville Provincial Court next to answer to the charges Monday morning.
