Thousands of Canadians across the country will be peddling on stationary bikes to support type 1 diabetes research.
The JDRF Revolution Ride is taking place in Calgary Thursday at the Palace Theatre.
Dr. Lois Donovan explained one of the exciting research projects underway involves developing an artificial pancreas.
“So that won’t be a cure for diabetes, but it will tremendously improve the lives of people living with type 1 diabetes every day. Right now people with type 1 diabetes are required to check their blood sugars multiple times per day,” said Donovan.
Over 300,000 Canadians live with type 1 diabetes.
