Comedy festival celebrates Canada’s 150th birthday

Some of the best Canadians in comedy are in Calgary this week for the sixth annual YYComedy Festival.

Festival Producer Cork Mac said it’s 100 per cent Canadian to celebrate the country’s sesquicentennial.

“Of course, they’re renowned around the world. We have Steve Patterson, we have Deanne Smith, Debra DiGiovanni, Pete Zedlacher, Mike Paterson. We’re having our very first French show speaking of Mike Paterson. So, him and Jess Salomon are doing an entire French show on Tuesday the 17th,” she said.

The festival starts Monday and runs until Saturday.
