Shots fired into southeast Calgary community centre

Gunshots rang out early Sunday morning during a function at a southeast Calgary community hall.

Police say shots were fired into the Forest Lawn Community Centre, at 40 Street and 26 Avenue, at about 2:40 a.m.

People inside heard the shots and called 911, but no one appears to have been injured.

Investigators have the area taped off as they comb the scene for clues and talk to witnesses.

There’s no word yet what might have sparked the incident and so far police are still looking for a description of the gunman.
