The number of jobs continue to drop in Alberta

According to the latest numbers from Statistics Canada, Albertans looking for work will continue to face some tough times.

This week’s Labour Force Survey found the province lost nearly 8,000 jobs in September.

Most of the losses are part- time, but it’s a strong sign that employers are reluctant to begin hiring.

One of the hardest hit areas was the service sector — mainly the hospitality industry.

In a release, ATB Financial says the numbers show the path to recovery remains unpredictable.
