Woman recovering from gunshot wounds in hospital

One woman is in hospital, after a shooting in the southeast community of Forest Lawn, early Thursday morning.
Police were made aware of the incident around 4:30 a.m., when a man called 9-1-1 to report a woman had been shot in an apartment building in the 1700 block of 37 Street S.E.
Emergency responders found one victim and quickly rushed her to hospital in serious, but stable condition. Police said the woman did not immediately cooperate with the investigation, but she appeared to have been shot by a small calibre gun.
A suspect description was not immediately available.
