Hitmen drop season opener to ICE

The Calgary Hitmen drop the first game of the 2017-18 season Friday night against the Kootenay ICE in Cranbrook.
Michael King potted a pair and Gillian Kohler added a single for the ICE.
Jake Kryski and Vladislav Yeryomenko scored for the Hitmen in a losing cause.
Calgary finished on top in the shot department, outshooting Kootenay 37-31.
No down time for the Hitmen and ICE as they play each other in the back-end of a home and home at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Saturday night.
