Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi said Tuesday nothing has changed on the Midfield Mobile Home front and the deadline to move out is still September 30.
Nenshi said the tenants on the city-owned land have until that date to take the city up on its $10,000 offer.
“And then like with any landlord, who has a tenant that overstays their lease, you have long conversations and a long process to figure out where to go from there. But in this case, the city will continue to work with everyone, as we worked with everyone else to ensure that everyone’s got a safe decent place to go,” Nenshi said.
Nenshi adds this isn’t the city being “cold-hearted,” it’s just no longer safe to live there given the current state of infrastructure.
