Critics of southwest leg of ring road against design

Residents opposed to the southwest leg of the ring road gathered in Cedarbrae to voice their concerns Tuesday night.
The group YYC Cares has been trying to rally those affected by construction to inform them about the current appeal and stay that’s ground the project to a halt.
Spokesperson Allie Tulick said it is a poor design.
“The media came out, and I guess KJL met with the media and took them for a tour, which the opponents requested and they didn’t bother taking opponents for a site tour, to prove that they are doing things right. Only, in my mind, that just seems like they have something to prove — to prove that they aren’t doing something wrong,” she said.
Critics are concerned about four wetlands that will be affected by the $1.42 billion project, including a popular beaver pond.
