A local group is helping people forced to flee their homes due to the wildfire in Waterton Lakes National Park.
A group called Calgary and Area Helps is collecting a variety of items such as non-perishable food, toiletries, Gatorade, protein bars, water, throat lozenges and eye drops.
They are also seeking donations of protective gear like masks, gloves, boots, and coveralls.
There are collection points in Calgary, Airdrie, Strathmore, High River, Black Diamond, Turner Valley, Okotoks, and Cochrane.
Calgary and Area Helps Founder and President Jolen Airey said donations that aren’t used immediately will be shipped to B.C.
More information can be found on the group’s Facebook page.
