Calgary roads get busier

Even though summer isn’t quite over yet, fall driving starts this week on Calgary roads as family holidays are over and youngsters return to class.

From now on, you can expect busier driving conditions during the morning and afternoon commutes.

660 NEWS afternoon traffic report Trace St. John, advises you plan to leave early. “There is going to be that much extra volume out there on the roads, and we still have a lot of construction going around Calgary. It’s torn up all over the place, so you still have to contend with that until the snow flies, and they tear some of those projects down,” he said.

Sue Deyell, our morning traffic expert, says drivers can rely on 660 NEWS to help them get to where they are going because we monitor it all.

“We’ve got traffic maps, we’ve got callers who are in the thick of things, we’ve got TV, we have cameras from the city,” she said.

“We know where the problems are. We are going to tell you where the issues are, where you should avoid, and your alternate route to get where you need to go the fastest.”
