4H Rodeo gives kids chance to learn

The Agrium Western Events Centre will be home to the Calgary Stampede 4H Rodeo for the next three days.

Arena Director Lindsay Miller said their focus with the event is to provide a safe environment where they can expose kids to the skills associated with rodeo.

“That encourages everyone to ask questions (and) learn more. We have great clinicians that come in and do a range of topics from proper health feed for their livestock — as well as hands on clinics to help them with the roping and the goat tying and the cow riding skills,” she said.

The 4H rodeo is celebrating its 20th anniversary and they are also marking 100 years of 4H in Alberta this weekend.
