ALERT makes third largest fentanyl bust

Three suspected drug dealers have been arrested after authorities seized more than 3,100 fentanyl pills, along with 1.4 kilograms of cocaine and large of amounts of heroin and methamphetamine.

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team says it was investigating a group of traffickers for a short time before officers searched three homes last week in the communities of Saddle Ridge, Radisson Heights and Douglasdale.

On top of the drug haul, ALERT also seized $22,000 in cash.

Thirty-six-year-old Cong Nguyen, 33-year-old Hoang Duong and 29-year-old Scott Smith, all from Calgary, are facing a total of 26 charges which include, cocaine production, possession of proceeds of crime, and multiple counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
