Some thrill seekers got more than they bargained for at the Calgary Stampede last night.
One of the more extreme rides, The Mach 3, got stuck leaving riders dangling in the air.
It must have seemed like a lifetime, but after about 30 minutes, the operator managed to get the ride going again, and the stranded riders were let off.
Paramedics assessed the half dozen passengers and one person was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The Mach 3 is operated by North American Midway Entertainment, and reports say it was being looked over late last night.
North American Midway Entertainment will need clearance from the province before the ride can resume operation.
New rules brought in after 10 people were injured in a mishap at Stampede in 2010, require regular checks and more stringent maintenance of fair rides.
